Towards the End

The events that have transpired at Al Asad are as similar as the rest of this story. Two soldiers with two interpreters moved to a new post and began the exact operations they had moved away from. Where ours differs though, are the small details. The side stories, the individual comments, the sources we met with. And those will all come out in time, and will all be posted as available.

For now though, our time in Iraq is winding down. Slightly over 10 days and we will be back in the U.S., enjoying the liberties we can all pretend to have fought for. The next 12 days will be long and arduous - most of them will be spent in some form of travel be it preparation, arrival, departure, or readjustment. I will have downtime in those days, and I will do my best to place the events from Al Asad, the only of my chapters untold as of yet, in this web log. Regardless, I'll prepare them for posting.

Those stories, and the ones evolving out of the final transition back to the U.S., along with where we all end up and how the year left its mark; they'll be coming soon. Well, soonish.
