"God is not on our side because he hates idiots also." - Il buono, il brutto, il cattivo
The following day we got a call from Rocketman. Rocketman was the nickname I gave him, it only made sense with his stories and lies, his creative ramblings designed to entice us into paying him more and more.
His call was to inform us of immediate information he had to let us know about. Dire things, horrible consequences if we didn’t meet with him and listen to them.
I think our office made a collective sigh when we got the call. It had already been a busy week, and Rocketman was one source we didn’t planned on meeting with. We figured he was worthless, a gold digger, a nuisance source. A nuisance source being one who shows up, with nothing of value, and demands action, or finances. We’d dealt with one of the earlier the previous week; a local man who wanted to inform us of dirty interpreters, and wanted us to arrest them immediately. He also exposed himself to us and began chewing on and eating his wicker fan. It was interesting, for sure.
After hanging up, and debating it, we decided to meet with Rocketman that evening. It was, after all, time sensitive information which involved a rocket attack the day following.
Rocketman had other ideas though. He decided that he wasn’t interested in meeting us then, that night, but that the next day would work. But…We asked, wouldn’t that mean you’d be telling us about things that are happening, or have happened already?
Not to be dissuaded, he said we would all meet tomorrow, early, in the A.M.
The next morning we got a call from him saying that nah, he didn’t want to come in today. He’s meet up the next day. Our office went ballistic, called him back immediately, demanded that he show up. He said he couldn’t talk. We said we didn’t care, couldn’t possibly care, he called us and was dicking us around? No way, no how. He was done. We heard him carrying on a side conversation with someone else. We demanded to know who he was talking to. He hung up on us, speaking to someone in the background.
L-Word spoke up: “We’re done with him. We’re done with that ugly bastard.” I added, “I hope we just burned him.” But ugly he was, hideous and unattractive; he had been known around the office as Ugly. He was always known as Ugly.
